Sofia - Entertainment and Night-Life

Sofia is not famous for its night-life, but there are at last six casinos, generally in the big hotels; jazz clubs, pubs, Karaoke, and even striptease clubs. At night, the city offers a variety of night life, including clubs, pubs, traditional taverns called mehani. Mehana is a Persian word meaning “wine house,” and in Bulgaria, a Mehana is a place where one can be served a variety of alcoholic beverages and traditional Balkan food, while enjoying traditional decoration and folk music.
